It's been a month since I've started work! I didn't mean to make my life sound this boring, but my weekdays are totally consumed by work, so were a handful of my saturdays, sundays are my only sabbath days.
Just returned from the overseas orientation in KL, thank God I had a wonderful bunch of friends otherwise the trip would have been agonising and awfully lonely. It was a great getaway from work and we're paid to go for a "holiday" so why not! We didn't have much time for R&R though, two days were packed with seminars and company activities, the other two were basically spent travelling by bus. Bulk of the money went to food like sting ray, carrot cake, oyster omelette, satay, Secret Recipe etc. There was a place named Sushi-zen whose menu was 90% like Sushi Tei's, the only difference was the prices were 50% cheaper!!! So you can guess how much we gorged ourselves that night. Only had the evenings to ourselves and we didn't exactly stay up because the reporting time for mornings were on average 7.30am. SO EARLY.
Interims has started, meaning the peak period is coming. Some of my friends are faraway at Tuas already. I'm currently with the team auditing a Catholic community council, for confidentiality's sake I shan't reveal the client's name. It's a non-profit organisation that receives fundings from donors before allocating them to respective beneficiaries who are the various Catholic communities and parishs. Just found it rather interesting as the financial statements are different from the usual profit entities. The accounts are also relatively easy to understand and the people there are really nice. Plus the office is near city hall/dhoby ghaut. I think I'm rather fortunate to have gotten this as my first job and I'm happy to be there :) :)
There was one day back in September that I went for a statutory audit at Millenia Tower. Gosh the place was so nice! If I weren't working at Raffles Place I wouldn't mind settling for that as my working place. Just some pictures to prove to you how nice the view is:
